Fashion Slave on a Budget with Cheap UGGs

Right now the UGG seems to be the boot to get if you want to be up on the latest fashions. It is a great boot and is very popular. But finding cheap UGGs can be hard to do if you simply musthave the latest and greatest of all that is fashionable. You can spend a small fortune to be ahead of the curve. So what can you do? Hopefully this article will help you out in getting the shoes you want, without having to sell your prize possessions to get them.

First a little history. According to Wikipedia, the UGG boot has been around for a very long time in Australia. "In Australia and New Zealand, sheepskin boots have long been popular with people in rural occupations, such as sheep shearers, who have ready access to the raw materials." If someone is working in a very physical occupation, they would need sturdy, reliable shoes. In winter it becomes especially important to keep the feet warm. If your feet get hurt, you'll have a hard time making a living.

Mostly when someone says UGGs they mean the UGG Australia brand. This brand is very high quality, and therefore makes it the most expensive brand, usually. There are other brands with styles similar to UGGs, such as EMU Australia and Bearpaw. They tend to be a bit cheaper, but are still good quality boots.

UGG Australia is constantly coming out with new styles. One that is a particular favorite is the Women's Classic Crochet, available in several colors, and currently priced at $100 USD. This boot can be worn indoors and out and just looks cozy and warm. As of this writing the UGG Australia Sandra boot on the Nordstrom website is $324.95. This is a great boot. It looks good and is toasty during the winter months. Nordstrom has the UGG Australia Broome boot for less than $250.00. Also a great boot.

If UGG is a bit too expensive for you, you could try EMU Australia Unisex Sandra boot shown at Amazon.com (as of this writing) at $74.95. Styles and prices change constantly, so you might want to look around for the best deal.

As far as getting the latest tends on our feet as soon as they come out, this is probably only important to celebrities who just might get them free anyway. It is their job to help set trends, so they need to look as up-to-date as possible. Important for them, yes. Important for us, not so much. These are undoubtedly great boots, whether you get UGGs, EMU Australia or Bearpaw, but if you can stand to wait for a while, these same boots should come down in price as the next big thing comes along. The law of supply and demand will make these UGGs cheaper as they move out of the "IT" thing to have. Less popular, less demand, lower price. Of course, being a name brand will keep them more expensive than just any old boot, but you can still find them cheaper down the road. Just keep your eyes open. Remember, it is the same great looking, high quality boot it was when it was hot, and it will still look good on you 6 months after the craze dies down.

It is important to look good and feel good about what you are wearing, but what are you willing to give up to be on the bleeding edge of fashion?

http://lovecheapshoes.com/ is a blog about finding cheap UGGs.

How to Clean Bearpaw and Sheepskin Boots

Ugg boots are made by many different companies, but common to them all is that they are made of sheepskin and lined with wool on the inside and with a tanned outer surface. While UGG Australia is perhaps the best known brand among the sheepskin boot producers, there are many other competing companies that make similar boots. Generally speaking UGG Australia makes boots that are higher priced than its competitors, which include Bearpaw, Fitzwell, EMU, Lugz, Old Friend, and Minnetonka.

However, no matter which sheepskin brand you have chosen, unfortunately sometimes they get dirty. Most commonly they get damaged due to rain or water. Unfortunately sheepskin boots are not waterproof.

The best way to take care of your sheepskin boots is to buy cleaning and water repellent sprays specifically made for sheepskin footwear. However, you may also consider the following 5 steps:

1. Wet the boots, however do not soak them.

2. Clean the suede upper with a soft, damp cloth. Alternatively a soft brush or sponge may be used.

3. Clean the sheepskin trim and lining in the same way as you cleaned the suede upper, but in addition a special shampoo for sheepskin is needed.

4. The boots should be dried naturally in a well-ventilated area. You may stuff the boots with paper towels so they will not lose their shape.

5. Once the boots are successfully cleaned, make sure to spray the boots with stain and water repellent spray.

It does not really matter if your are looking to clean boots made by Bearpaw, Fitzwell, EMU, Lugz, Old Friend, Minnetonka, or UGG Australia. As long as the boots are made of sheepskin, normally the same cleaning procedure should be followed. The above steps may need to be repeated in certain circumstances, and more advanced cleaning may be necessary for more serious stains.

Women's EMU Stinger - Version of a Classic

The Women's EMU Stinger is what could be considered a classic boot among a very hot trend of ladies' Australian boots and indeed has the same basic style as some other brands. Also, per a majority of consumer testimonials this boot has just as much quality and comfort to rival even the most well-known name in this style of footwear.

Construction: The Stinger boot is made with extremely high quality craftsmanship and constructed from double faced sheepskin as well as an inner sheepskin lining. The special features of this lining allow feet to stay free of moisture - functional for keeping the boots odor free as well as allowing feet to stay rather cool in warmer weather and quite comfortable and warm in the coldest months of the year. It's look is very similar to the "Classic" boot from UGG Australia.

Variety: Like other classic styles of Australian boots, the Stinger comes in "Hi", "Lo" and "Mini" heights. The Hi boot is a knee-high boot, the Lo is a mid-calf height and the Mini is a shorter, just above the ankle style. In addition to the different heights of the boot there are quite a number of colors to add some distinctly different looks so depending on your own individual tastes there is likely a boot among the collection that will satisfy your needs.

Sizing: This boot is different than other brands of Australian boots in terms of its fit. For another brand you might expect to "size down" where that is not the case with the EMU Stinger. When purchasing this boot it is a wise idea to order your normal size, and if between sizes to actually order ½ size up from your usual in order to get a good fit. When you first put these boots on, they should feel more on the snug side but they do stretch and should be just the right size after a several wearings.

Price: The cost of a Stinger boot will vary depending on a number of factors including the height of the boot as well as the time of year and merchant that the boot is purchased from. Generally speaking, you can plan to pay anywhere from $20 to $40 less for this sheepskin boot than it's rival, the UGG Classic. The reviews on the comparison of these two boots vary - some feel that the boot from UGG Australia is preferred, the majority of testimonials actually stated they were equal in quality and general comfort.

If you are searching for a great ladies' classic style Australian sheepskin boot, the Women's EMU Stinger is good bet - and for a lower price than you might pay otherwise.

Bearpaw Women's 614 Orkney Boot

Bearpaw Women's 614 Orkney Boot review

Due to the thickness of lining customers are advised to order at least one size bigger than their usual shoe size

Customer Reviews

Great Boots - But Sizing Is Out5
Great quality boots - real sheepskin lining, good suede, nice stitching detail, excellent sturdy sole, well-made. Great value, very warm and incredibly comfortable.

Sizing on Amazon is a bit strange - having read reviews of other Bearpaw boots on Amazon I ordered 2 sizes up (being a UK 6 I ordered Amazon's UK 8 option). When they arrived the box was marked UK 8, EU 41, USA 9 and the boots themselves were marked as a USA 9 on the sole - checking online shows a US women's 9 to be a UK women's 6.5 and an EU 40. The Amazon size 8 that I ordered are a really comfortable fit for my size 6 feet so my advice is to order at least 1 and probably 2 sizes up to ensure a good fit.

good boots, usa sizing4
Lovely boots, but agree with other reviews, the UK sizes shown are actually US. Based on the other reviews I ordered two sizes up and they fit fine. The lining seems to be fake fur, which is fine for me, but something to be aware of. Overall, very happy so far.

Great bearpaw boots!!5
Having read the first review I bought a pair of these boots in chestnut in one size up a 6 (I am a size 5) and they fit ok however still a little tight at the toes,I think they will fit better after the sheepskin wears down a bit, however the boots themselves are fantastic!! really well made & the sheepskin is good quality & very warm, and compared to other well known brands the price is excellent!!
I like the fact they are different with the stitching, and the hard wearing sole is a must & will last a long time.
I was so happy with the first pair I also got another pair in choc brown, this time a size 7 -and they fit perfectly, so I would say you definitely should go 2 sizes up with all bearpaw boots!!
